    Default Interesting thing happened today

I'm a recruiter. I was eating lunch and there was an older couple sitting a couple tables over. Maybe mid 50's. We got our food about the same time. I finished and was checking emails on my phone when the wife said "excuse me, do you mind if we pay your ticket?" I said ma'am thank you but you don't have to. She insisted and I saw tears fall from under her glasses. That's when she told me that they had recently lost their son oversees and that paying for my meal was the least that she could do. I thanked her and her husband and told them that I was sorry for their loss. I told that story to say this, let us not forget about out troops that continue to give their lives for this country and please pray for and with their families.

Bluethunder, that's an awesome story, but not at all uncommon. Everytime I walk thru an airport and see our men and women in uniform travelling, I make it a point to shake each and everyone of their hands and thank them for their service to our country, and I rarely do it without shedding a private tear. I spent 14 months in Viet Nam and 3 years in Asmara, Ethiopia, and I truly know what it's like to loose a friend and loved one, and the agony of being away from family. Like the lady said, "It's the least we can do."

Touching story. I'm a police officer and have been for 15 years. I've had similar encounters on a few occasions. It very nice when someone just walks up and thanks you for what you do. God bless all of our men and women in uniform all over the globe. May God bring them home safely.
