Default Glen Elder 4-19 to 4-21

Well, we fought the wind all weekend, but didn't do too bad.
Thursday we got on the water at 3:00 and ended the day with 55 crappies in 6 fow, then bucked the north wind back across the lake...it was pretty rough at times.

The we switched over to the eyes on Friday and ended up with 4 keeps and 4 shorts (up to 23 inches). Saturday we had to leave by 3:00 and hit 1 more keep and 1 more short. Did here of spotty reports of limits of walleyes.

1st time I had been on the lake...nice lake.

We already took care of 1/2 that walleye. Those nice thick fillets are perfect seared on my grill skillet. Crappies are for frying, you can't beat walleye on that grill. I had a happy wife after that meal!

Good job! Were you targeting the walleye or the crappie? Excellent fish!

Crappie Thursday (when we caught 55) and walleye Friday and Saturday. We caught the crappie hanging out in 6 fow in a cove (mostly females). Guys were hitting males in shallow with minners as we caught females deeper on jigs.

Then we switched to walleyes the next day as I didn't want to clean that many again the next day. We hit the eyes in 10-12 ft. Heard reports of crappie and walleye in together off channel breaks with a mix of minnow and worms. I just don't like messing with minnows if I don't have to.

This 90 degree weather should have those crappies going! Too bad I'm working this week! Good luck guys.

Thanks again for the info. I have picked up two keeper walleye pitching a pony head jig for crappie, both in less than five foot of water. Sounds like you have them figured out!
