    Could someone tell me what the growth on a crappie is that looks like a fungus? Most of the time it will be on their fins but i have seen it on their sides as well.

    I believe that is a bacteria. When it is on their body they have had something nail them. EB

    Not an expert, but a game warden told me it was caused by a predator fish
    knocking the slime off the fish and a bacteria got into the scratch/wound area.
