Interesting looking slab. I'd like to konw what happened myself.
I caught this "Humpback" today and after a couple of pics and a close inspection, I turned it back loose. I'm hopeing that if it ever gets over 2lbs, that either my wife of one of my kids can catch it again. It didn't have any scars or sores and was very healthy and active. I've never seen one like this before. Hope ya'll enjoy it and maybe someone can tell what happened to it.

That crappie's name is "Wile E. Crappie" he was chasing Mr. Blakemoore the RoadRunner when a boulder fell on his head.
looks like he bred with a peacock bass
retired and now i will always fish
Quasimodo comes to mind.
Bet he was hit when young and damaged that spot. I know I catch a lot of catfish that look like that.
Or you are fishing near a power plant. LOL

A form of tuberculosis that affects fish can cause curvature of the spine, but I'll bet injury . I think I would have turned that one in to a state fish biologist. - Roberta
