    I have acquired this!!

Problem is that there are two cracks on the bottom...
One about 4 inches long that has been previously repaired and another about 20 inches long down the center on the bottom!

Would it be worth trying to fix??? I mean ya cant beat free but being on an extremely tight basically no extra budget. Would it be worth fixing?

West Systems makes an epoxy especially for HPDE boats. I think it's called g-flex maybe? Not sure how expensive it is.

That "repair" doesn't look like it is holding much, I would remove and then re-repair. I fixed my huge trashcan with a blow torch and a 1/2" screwdriver. Would probably work on the boat bottom. Basically you heat the screwdriver and then use it to "weld" the crack back together. Don't just smooth across the surface, oush the hot screwdriver into the crack to get both sides good and hot. They will fuse back together if done right. This method doesn't cost much at all, just the propane for torch.

Yea that was previous repairs from god knows when. The smaller crack wont
Be bad to fix. But its that long one.....the plastic seems like its about a 1/8th thick if that

I'd come down firmly in the NO category for fixing something like that... even at free.
The best way to get to where you want to be in the future is to act like you are there TODAY.

If you heat the tool and get the plastic on both sides of the crack molten, you can then "weld" them together. 1/8" is plenty especially since you will only be using it in a pond. It's basically a "free" fix, only costing you labor and pennies for the propane.

once the foam gets waterlogged, it is not worth saving.

There probably is foam in there, but not poured. It is likely blocks of white closed cell foam...........which does NOT absorb water.

(My little 10.2 has this foam in it)

I purchase a used 8 foot 1980's model KL Industries boat similiar to the one you have and it had a few crack under the bottom. I used the West Systems product and it has held for 3 years. It should also work on the larger crack if done evenly and apply a double coat. My KL model has the block foam and it doesn't absorb water...I just made one of the cracks a little larger, drained the boat, let it sit for a day and then applied the fix. The stuff cost less than $10.00 and should replair it enough for you to use on your pond. Hope that helps.
