Due to the cold front and bright sunshine they were tight to cover like you said. We ended up bluegill fishing in deep water and brought home a nice mess.
Fished Eddy Creek all weekend casting jigs. Found fish holding 10 to 12 deep but could only manage
5 or 6 keepers each day from fish tight in the brush.
Sure would like to hear how anyone else done.
Just trying to figure out if I was off that much or it was just that bad.

Fished south of Eddy Creek yesterday and noticed the same thing fish holding tight to brush. Fished alot of places kept 13. Did you notice the females? The ones we caught had eggs but wasn't full. Caught most on casting jigs and a few on minnows under a float.
Fished the creek down by Blue Spring (State resort) all last week. We caught fish in 15 to 1 fow. Allot of shorts but managed a few keepers every day. Water temps ran from 65 early in the week to 53 on Friday. Water was stained to dirty depending on the area. Below a float with flash skirted jigs tipped with 1" gulp or minnows also fuzzy grub turned some as well. Also manage a few large mouth and a some cats. It was our first trip to Barkley, it will not be our last.
