Default This is what its all about!!

Took my son and his buddy to the lake for some longlining. What a great time!! Ended up with 26 on this day. I just learned this technique from Brad Chappell. This seems to be a very good technique for the days the bite is not that great. You can cover a lot of ground and present your baits to more fish and locate the active feeders. Thanks Brad for teaching me this technique so I can pass it on as you can see in these photos. Name: IMG00156-20120324-1344.jpg

It appears from the pic that you are trolling. I'm interested to find out your trolling speed and how you maintain the depth of your jigs?

Lenght of line + speed determines jig depth. Trolling a 1/160z jig at .8-1.0 will run it at4.5 -5 ft in my boat. Speed up the jig runs shallow, slow down to run deep.

Longlining is my favorite way to crappie fish, I do it all year with good results.
