    Default Summer Night Fishing Questions

Hi I am new here first post, I love crappie fishing during the summer months at night for crappie, how would a person go about finding where to fish for crappies during the summer months on new lakes, what locations would you look for ? I seem to do good on a few of my lakes I have fished forever but some of the newer lakes I have started fishing, I do good in the spring and catch good ones but when the summer time gets here I just can't find the?

First off....welcome to the boards. I started nite fishing back in January of this year. I can tell ya fish wasnt hard to find before the spawn but it's a different game now. Earlier you could find bait and fish on the graph before setting up. I've searched for an hour or more in spots I KNOW fish should be in and seen nadda on the graph lately though. There's been times (I went ahead and set up for a night stalk and still did pretty good and times I didnt do so well. I'm mainly trying to fish 25-30 feet of clear water. Sometimes I'll fish drop offs near banks and sometimes I go into the fish shelters that still has alot of standing timber. Seems when I catch 'em the bait finds the lights and the crappie are closeby. When I dont do so good the bait still finds the lights just the crappie arent there. For me it's more hit or miss now that thye spawn is over and the water is heating up. All this might not help your fishing any but it's how mine has been going lately.

Yea. check the drop-offs. I get alot of crappie in the drops. Try just dropping them in different depths. I use 2 lights from Walmart that are $13ea. they do the job. Welcome
