Happiness Is A Cooler Full Of Crappie!

I got on the water at 6am yesterday and was fishing the middle lake of the 3 I fish but I wasn't doing any good and only had 4 by 8am so I decided to move to the biggest lake of the 3 and see if I could do better. I launched the boat and eased by the pavilion that is about 50 yds
from the launch and put a minnow by the edge of it and a crappie nailed it. I was surprised because I have never caught anything but bream there. Well to make a long story short I never moved and ran out of minnows at 10 am and had a total of 56 fish.
The water temp was 69.5° and the water was 10' deep and the fish were holding at 5' I was surprised to see all the females still loaded with eggs.

Here's the 19 left in the cooler that I scaled and gutted for my buddy in MS, he loves the small ones like that. He'll be coming to fish here in a few weeks. Before anyone gets upset over the small ones the rules in the private lakes I fish are that you keep every crappie. He manages them as trophy bass and bream lakes.

thats a great catch and an even greater boat. Did you have that custom made, I never really seen one like that. I have always hated toons but I think I like that one.
