    WOW! The article said the old World record was 4.5 lbs ? Several years ago the Arkansas state record was caught in Oladale , 5 miles from my home. It weighed in at 4lbs 9 oz and was caught by a local bass fishing.
    Many years ago on Bayou Meto a farmer relative of mine said he caught one over 5 lbs. But it was in an illegal fish trap!
