    Default Crappie on the Banks

Three days of fishing on Melvern, Toronto, and Council Grove.
Friday Melvern caught 4 in two hours on cork. Decided at 11
to go to Toronto for afternoon. Caught 4 keepers on jig and
cork and longpole. Broke my longpole on 14 incher. Decided
to go back Saturday. Decided to get minnows (hate them) and
fish the area harder. Wasn't my day caught 4 small keepers.
Did catch a 10# blue and lost one much bigger. There where
some people having better luck than me. On Sunday went to
Council Grove. Lake is at normal height and muddy. Went to my
favorite bank spot and nobody around. Should have known. Didn't
get a bump. No shad either. So I went back to Melvern with my
jig and cork. Fished for couple hours broke another rod and C&R
about 12 nice Keepers. The pic with cork is Melvern and the
other is from Toronto. Thanks Jon

Way to get after them, I guess it's time to get the roadrunners out and rig up a cork...thanks for the post.

I made it out to Perry Saturday afternoon to my favorite shallow cove, which has been my go to spot for first of the year spawning crappie. Dipped with the 12 ft pole and casted jig and cork for about 2 hrs. I only caught one keeper on one bite. Water still appears too cold from the feel of it. Corp had 45 degrees at the basin. It shouldn't be long now.
