    Angry Help...TM died???

Went out for a couple hours yesterday...parked the truck and jumped in the boat...put the TM in the water and .....nothing.

Got home and pulled the prop off...found some fishing line in there. It came off fairly easy but when I tried to run the TM...nothing

Today I discovered some corrosion in the plug...replaced both male and female connectors...still nothing.

    Anybody ever had this happen?

    Thanks for any thoughts.

Corroded connections make the current draw go up and so does line around the prop. So a fuse could blow under those conditions.

also the speed switch could have gone out depending upon the brand/style.

Bypass the switch and apply 12 volts,(if it's a 12 volt motor). If it runs it's either the switch button or the speed control. If it still doesn't run it's probably a bad motor.

Hmm, did you replace the plug all together? I melted the inside of a plug once and replaced the whole thing and worked just fine.

We had a connector fry between the battery and fuse box. Doug put in a breaker switch (?) with a reset button.

Thanks for all the advise...finally got out there with the volt meter and figured out it was the speed switch that had froze up. Bypassed it like yall suggested and the motor seemed to work fine. If I can't get a replacement switch under warranty, it should be about a $16 part. Regardless, all should be back to normal by Saturday afternoon.
