Feed the rope through the handle and hold both ends until it is sitting where you want it, then let go and pull the rope back.
I am trying out this structure 5 gal. bucket style with willow tree branches, so am I to use a certain knot so I can retrieve my rope, or what's the gig to doing this? TKS. DAVEYWONDER wondering
Feed the rope through the handle and hold both ends until it is sitting where you want it, then let go and pull the rope back.
With bamboo all you need to do is shove it overboard. It'll float down like a parachute and sit upright everytime. Not sure with willow branches though.
I always put the bail in the upright position and use an "S" hook on my rope. That way you can make sure the bucket is upright when it hits bottom. I usually give mine a couple of bounces when it hits bottom to make sure it seats.

Do you think it's a good idea to have the lakes covered with plastic buckets? Brush is one thing but plastic also.

Bamboo or wood we just drop over the side. The rope trick would work too.
