now that is a good, no great report, way to go,,, I have not snagged in years, now my ole back and belly says no way .... sure is a nice fish , great picture, and congrats on the crappie...
Went down for crappie and paddlefishing the past few days. Thursday evening produced 19 keepers between 10-13" for me and my buddy. Dad and I went out this morning and caught 20 keepers between 10-14". We caught very few short fish. Best color Thursday evening was a white/chartreuse slab buster and an orange/chartreuse slab buster was the best this morning. We fished tree's and brush that extended out 10' or so from the banks up the Flat Creek arm. Most fish were sitting at the end of the brush about 15-20' from the bank. Most of our fish were males, but we did get a few females mixed in. Another angler we talked to this morning said he was catching males up closer to the bank and females out in the deeper water next to standing trees.
If anybody on here snags, we hammered them up river above Walnut Springs near McCords. Not many big fish, but we did manage a couple around 60 pounds.
Here's the 20 from this morning and also a 60-65 pound spoonbill we caught opening night.
