How many poles can you realistically keep up with using spider rig? I'm talking one person sitting in the bow. I see a lot of folks with 8 up front, but many with two seats.

I can run four comfortable, but have run as many as six if the bite is slow. With two people we run 6 to 8 depending on the conditions and the bite.

I run 8 regardless if i am by myself or with someone. If i get into trashy water I sometimes drop down to 6 poles.

I've run 4 and sometimes 5 poles for 27 years trolling. It is a handfull I must
say when you get into the fish and three poles have fish at one time. I'm
    not complaining though.

I usually run 8 16' poles out the front by myself and then still keep a short rod handy to cast to laydowns or vertical jig by the boat. If the fish are real active I might cut back to 6.

10...(but the 2 outermost poles left and right are set shallow enough to not have to watch as closely)..

I run 6 poles, but it's tough if you're in rough water or heavy cover (snags). Usually with 1 or 2 people on my boat. My boat can have 2 seats up front side-by side, and that makes it easier.
