    Default Cave Run 3-11-12

Went to Cave Run today. Lake is up muddy and trashy but still had 20 keepers. No fish for the first hour an a half. Fish were in 12 fow holding about 8 ft. Slip bobber drifting over brush is what they wanted. Biggest was 13.

No luck at KY River yet..... been getting hits as it stays/gets warmer, been seeing a lot of chunkier fish around the banks, wondering if this is the crappie moving in for spawning time??

I don't think it's crappie yet. I've seen some whites up in the creeks.

I went to Cave Run Thursday Morning and camped at the little campground by the tunnel and came home today. We caught bout 350 to 400 crappie prob 250 to 275 of them were between 8" to 8 7/8 so next spring cave run should be smoking. I only keep fish 9" and up we ended up with 50 to 55 between 9" to 14 1/2 " I could not locate the big crappie to save my life. We got some heavy rain Thursday night that messed us up a little. I couldn't get a handle on them because they were all over. I caught them from 18" to 20 feet deep. I caught them in heavy brush and around stumps. Dunno i couldn't get a pattern going.

Hey Grizzly we went to Cave Run today and ended up with 15 keepers. This is two of the biggest that my father in law caught.
