Default How fast can you fillet Crappie

One BS'er spouted he could fillet 100 in 20 minutes! I say bull corn on that. . I filleted my 20 (limit) in about 18 minutes with a fillet knife. I cut around the ribs and get the belly meat too. Some folks keep up with electric knives but then have to go back and cut out rib section , losing belly meat.

I agree nimrod. No way anybody can fillet 100 crappie on 20 minutes. Not properly anyway. Guess you could butcher them up in that time but even that would be a challenge.

Why stop at a 100, once you get warmed up you should be able to do 200 in about 30min

He could get paid for doing them that well. I don't get in a hurry, and can do one every minute or so with an electric fillet knife.

I watched a video a long time ago and saw a guy filet and de-rib all with an electric knife almost in one fluid motion, I always used an extra knife, no more, practiced that til I could do it, don't think I could pull off 100 in 20 minutes, gotta stop and take a drink, examine stomach contents, tease the cat, etc...

Me and my fishin partner have done 60 in 21 minutes before and that is getin it done. We cut the ribs out with the electric knife. I used to work with a guy that said he could scale them faster than I could fillet. He had never seen an electric knife. NOT!!!
