    Default Reelfoot Lake bluegills

My brother and I will be going to Tujnica cut for the crappies and then mid week to Reelfoot to bluegill fish. Wondering if anyone knows of a guide that specialises in bluegills there?
Anyone know if the upper basin is better for bluegill?

Good morning Tunica, your right both lakes are great. I've never fished Tunica and from what I read the crappies should be bedding any day now.And crappies are my favorite fish.
We use to go to Reelfoot in the summer back when we had family in Deyersburg Tn. I love that lake. And the b luegills should be bedding real soon. Its so shallow it warms up fast.
So we can get the best of both worlds and yes it is on the way home.
Have you been doing any good at Tunica?

They spawn quickly because the lake is controlled by the river...I aint a bioligist but I know from experience there hot and bedding to back to the deep water or areas close faster than you'd think. The bream should start within a week or so with the full moon cycle.

I know alots have had good catches and some not so good thats fishing though...I've caught some good fish but the lakes been really crowded and the weekend is best spent watching ramp follies.....

Reelfoot has some nice bluegill and I think you will be there about the right time. Find yourself some small black hair jigs about a 32nd oz. and tip them with a wax worm and fish them around the bases of the trees in the shallows.
Kirbys pocket would be where I would start. Good luck.
