There is a section on crappie cover.
I'm cutting down two small trees in my yard today. I plan on saving them and rigging them to sink in the deepest part of the pond I live on to attract fish. The pond is 15 ft deep where I'm planning on dropping these. I plan on leaving the sections about 5-6-ft tall. Does this sound about right? Can you put too much structure in a pond? This pond is about 15-20 acres. I may stick a couple more pieces out there sometime as well. Is 4-5 small trees a good, focused spot to attract fish? Are there some articles on putting structure in a pond?

I used black plastic water line pipe for structure in the pond...
Wood will rot away...plastic lasts forever...

I say go for it. It certainly cant hurt anything!Thumbs Up
I want to get something out there for this summer. May put something more permanent out there later.
Consider splitting it up into sections so that you can move from one to another and let one rest. Hardwood lasts longer if it's seasoned first.
