Most all teams were in "spider rig" mode with Jig tipped minnow

1st place Cole team using Deep-South 14' rods, fishing 11-13'
deep working center of lake, with plenty of drag chain out
Just Jiggin ice jigs(yellow-gold) and Ron's Zip Jigs (hot pink)

2nd place Parker/Eberly team also using Deep-South rods, using
"Just Jiggin" ice jigs (yellow/gold comb) and Ron's Zip Jigs,
white/gold collar. They worked water 10-12' deep down close to
bottom

Weather conditions, overcast & extremely high wind conditions (8am-10.4 mph)
9am-11.5 mph)(11am, 16.1 mph, gusting to 20.7 mph) and than things went down
hill from there, gusting at times to 29 mph. Three-four swells, rolling white caps.
Winds out of south comming length of South to North 12,000 acre lake.

Due to high wind contitions, one team's boat was caught in sidways turn, water
poured over bow and second wave flipped boat completely over. One team
member had life vest on, other member's vest was inside storage locker. One
member was on top of hull spread eagled, holding hand of 2nd to keep him afloat
until rescue personnel arrived. Both were saved, boat was towed to fish camp
approx 2 miles away, uprighted in shallow water. Most all of teams equipment was
retrieved with exception of 8 rods and 1 small takle box.

Due to fast action of fellow FCC members and use of "all teams are accounted for
during and after tournaments with special note to making sure everyone is off the
lake", this story had a very happy ending. Make it a policy never eve the dock
without a PFD on and leave it on until you come the water. Its your life and we
cannot replace you.
