I got a evenrude 9.9 for my jon boat thats not running right I put fresh gas in it and replaced the gas line but i think the carb might need a good cleaning and im not much of a mechanic so if anybody around smithville or north kc knows how to do it I will buy the beer

I've cleaned the carb on my old 10hp motor once. Fixin' to do it again, actually. If this knucklehead can do it, anyone can. I might take a stab at it with ya sometime, if you can find someone better than me (which would be about anyone!)

I think Evinrude/Johnson makes some carb cleaner, similar to SeaFoam that you actually spray into the carb until the motor shuts down. You let it sit for a while and fire it back up. It basically tries to break everything down inside the carb then blow it out. I would try that before rebuilding the carb. There is just something about jacking with all of the factory settings on those small carbs, I just don't like to do it until I have no other choice. Matt
