Default What to do when you hook a Cat on your Crappie line!

This may not be legal anywhere, and it may be just some more internet BS.

If your fishing for small fish with light tackle. As in a lake with your Crappy rig, and hook into a big Catfhis.
Your Rod or line will break if you try to fight the big Cat.

So....You take your 9 Volt battery out of the Tackle box.
Hang it on your line with something that will let if slide down the line to the fish.
Put a Paper clip on the Plus side, sticking out an inch or so.
    Nothing on the Minus side.

When the Stinger hit's that Cat, he's been Tazared!
He's gonna sleep pretty soundly for a few minutes.
Then you can horse him up and net him without losing anything.

Don't bother checking the Reg's. I doubt if this is legal for anybody except the fish counters at F&G.
I just wish I could be better at fishing. Or maybe luckier!:D

Do what I did Tuesday fight that that 38# mama on 10# line for about 20 minutes; net it; boat it; throw your arms in the air and yell "Yeeeeeeee Haaaaaaaw!

We always land the catfish....we catch some big ones and you would be suprised those 14 ft. B'nM crappie poles and 10 lb. line will land a lot of big catfish, not to mention stripers, and gar.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

I'm pretty sure that the water would short out the battery within less than a second and unless the paper clip went into his brain it wouldn't work. If the battery was completely insulated, you wouldn't have a complete circuit. My vote is for internet BS.
Thanks dad for teaching me to love crappie fishing!!

That's the beauty of 6 lb line...just hold the spool and snatch the rod. Breaks 'em off every time.Thumbs Up

9-volt battery doesn't have enough amperage to do anything, you can stick your tongue on both post and it just barely tickles. Heck even a lantern battery wouldn't work. Besides it would be non-gaming and unethical, IMO. Plus illegal.

I had a 25lb carp drag my old tracker around for 45 minutes and a 1/4 mile. In the end, I wish I had just cut the line, which I'll do in the future if it happens again.
