    Question Depthfinder screen

Is the picture on my depthfinder the whole 20 degree signal?
am I seeing everything that the deptfinder is seeing at that moment or do you have to scroll back to see all the pic?

I think I'm understanding your question and correct me If I'm wrong.
Your asking if when you go over a structure, your seeing from top to bottom like a box?
If that is it, the answer is no. What you are seeing is a 20 Deg. cone. It's like an inverted ice cream cone.
Let me show you at this site.
This is the best info I think you can get.

Rod what you see on the right is what is last to be picked up on the transducer . when it comes up you have passed it depends on how fast you are going . the rest of the screan is history.

Here is some additional information that I have found very useful.

I have two Humminbird matrix's. Anybody know where to get a tutorial on them?

That is a good question. I did four Google searches and couldn't find anything.
I guess first, we have to find out who manufactures them and go from there. Maybe someone has a manual with a website in it.

Actually EVERYTHING you see in the picture on your screen is history. The screen scrolls at a certain speed whether you're moving or not. The only thing that is current is the very beginning of what is appearing on the screen. As long as you're still seeing the marks on the very right of the screen is what's underneath the boat at that time.
