I don't really know much about fishing tournaments in Nebraska, but i do know they happen. I would say your best bet is to contact the Nebraska Games and Parks office (402) 471-0641 and ask about tournaments in the area where you live or statewide.

Rose Placzek Memorial Crappie Tournament, Sherman Reservoir, usually the first part of May. Contact Nebraska Walleye Trail. This is the only NE, open water, public, crappie tournament that I am aware of...
