Water cooled engines run a LOT cooler than your air cooled ones. The water cooled engines need more anti fouling chemicals in their oil, or you will be forever replacing spark plugs.
I have 2-cycle oil for air cooled engines {chain saws- weed eaters, and motor cycle.
Does anyone know hte difference in these oils and the 2 cycle for boat engines.

Naturally when you buy a chain saw or weed eater they want you to use their oil. But outboard oil (TCW3) will work just fine. I've been using it in all my 2 cycle engines for years. You just may need to mix it with a little more oil. ie 40:1 instead of 60:1 used in most outboards.
