i like the pst never tried caps and coleman
I am going to buy some 14' b n m rods for spider rigging, either a 2 minnow rig with 1/2 ounce weight or 2, 1/8 ounce jigs.
which is better, a pro staff trolling rod or capps and coleman rod?

i use the pro staff trolling rod,but most people like the capps and coleman with the 1/2oz weight setup
Really like my PST's! You will make a great choice with either the PST's or Capps and Coleman's.
i use capps&coleman spidder riggin with a 1/2oz setup !!!! there just right for that kind of fishin.

X2 on the Capps & Coleman.
Mostly use C&C's but have the PST's also. I like both, the C&C's will let ya see more bites. If you fish lots of cover, you will prefer the PST's.

Hi there !!!
Just caught the question before getting off here. I have to recommend using the lightest action possible for getting the most crappie bites. ALWAYS !!!! I carry a set of BnM BGJP 's 14 ft ers rigged with only single jigs and a set of 14 ft ers C&C for minnow rigging. The only time I use the Pro Staff poles which are the most "stiff" of all is to push crankbaits. If I had to pick a set for using jign and/or riggn it would be the BGJP. Hope this helps. Definitely the second choice would be our poles the Capps & Coleman Trolling Rods.
To add a bit more help ....... In the length category....... I surely recommend starting out your "riggn adventure" with a rod that is easy to handle. The C&C 12 ft rod is awesome for handling and fishing any depth other than ultra shallow. (I love to use it casting into heavy vegetation for distance and getting fish up out of the emerging lilly pads at Reelfoot.) The 14 ft rods will catch you more fish at the end of the day however they are a bit more trouble to handle. The 16 ft and longer rods are much more trouble to handle and really better suited for anglers competing since "coverage area" is very important in many tourneys. These longer rods will catch you more fish when used in a "front pushing set" you may just be a bit more tired at the days end. I would recommend 12 ft ers if you have never tried a trolling set using a single jig set or minnow riggn set. Second choice in length is 14 ft ers which is what I use everytime I go to the lake.
Thanks,
Good Fishn !!
