Default B n M rod taking some getting used to

I picked up a 10' BnM jigging rod the other day and I used it for the first time. It took some getting used to as far as getting a good hook set. I've used my dad's hand me down GL2 9' rod for years and it is much stiffer and I don't have to really do more than twitch my wrist to set the hook and when I done this with the BnM I wasn't driving the hook into the mouth good. The first few fish that I did get in the hook would fall out of their mouths as soon as they hit the deck. I however do like the BnM VERY well as it is MUCH lighter than the ole G' Loomis and the deep flex makes every fish feel like a "goodern" and that's really enjoyable to me.
