Default Comments please on easy bite and other ice fishing detactors

ARE ANY OF US USING THE EASY BITE AND OTHER DETACTOR HANDLED BY BASS PRO AND CABELLAS. BEING A VERTICAL FISHERMAN AND EYE SIGHT FADDING THIS MAY BE A GOOD THING TO TRY. I BOUGHT BASS PRO'S ONE THAT THEY HAD IN STOCK BUT CAN'T GET THE SPRING LOADING ONE BY FRABILL? HIGH VIS LINE IS A MUST FOR ME AND THIS MAY BE A GOD SENT DEAL. bangheadbanghead

I'm sure I won't be of any help on this since I don't dock fish or ice fish.

I sure thought this looked interestingly like it would work Easy Bite Ice Fishing Bobber, Positive and Negative Bite and Strike Indicator, replaces Ice Fishing Spring Bobber .

But realizing all of my fishing is from a boat I'm sure this wouldn't be of any use due to the up and down motion normally experienced on the water. But from a stable platform like a dock or on ice it looks like it should work great in MHO.

Are you using electronics? A Vexilar will help you anticipate a bite, then I would suggest a rod with a lot of backbone so that you could actually feel the bite. Frabill makes one that I used when I was starting out.

I fish from a boat 90% of the time. other times just relaxing on my dock. At this time of the year the bite is very lite and I just thought it would help ole guys like me to see the bite better, I don;t use electronics

Somebody else on another thread asking questions about electronics made the comment that he wanted to spend his time fishing and not looking at the electronics. My immediate thought was WTH since with my usual fishing style of just hanging tandem jigs over the sides of the boat with a rod in each hand with my eyes glued to that screen at all times is my most enjoyed way of fishing. All the while continually watching the graph for depth changes, brush piles, fish marks and even my own jigs in the water is what gives me confidence in staying in a area and keep fishing. If I wasn't looking at my electronics I would quickly loose any confidence as to whether I was working a good area or not if fish weren't being caught and just how long I should stay. Of course all of that probably is my down fall at not bringing home a boat load of fish all the time since I've probably been wasting my time working places where the fish weren't biting all the while watching good looking stuff scroll by on my graph. All in all as for me I always want electronics available for use if planning on spending a few hours or more fishing which is the usual case since it's a forty minuet drive to the nearest lake. Again more ramblings where I haven't added anything towards answering your question about a lite bite.
