Good report Michael, glad you had a good day!
ROCK, pretty good day, ran them dog early, then Called Darrell, he was not home so I did a solo run, fished some brush piles in 17 to 25 ft of water, did some slow trolling along the bluff west of the Cape Fair Marina, Lots of sun and the shad were all over the place, you could eaven see them a couple feet below the surface... long line of them....
OK for the petuclars... had to be black/chartruse with a nibble, chartruse nibble with silver sparkles,,,, I tried several colors and that was the only color, Slabbuster jig...
on the brush I got hung up a bunch, till I finally swithche to Dongottos favorite jig, #4 bronze hook seems them short shanks do not get hung up in the brush so bad.... them sycle hooks dig in fast... drop to the top of the brush or what I thought was the top and let down slow,,, tic tic set the hook, most of the fish just kinda loaded up the tip of the rod and that was all you got for a bite.
x
on the slow trolling on the bluff same as everywhere,,,, find the depth they are at and try to stay above them,,, double rig jig. black/chartruse on top, rootbeer/chartruse on bottom both rods, only thing they hit was Black/chartruse just like the brush.....
after 11 nice crappie and 4 hours later I called it a good day and toddled on home.....
remember if the women don't find you hansome,,,,,,,your not me

Great read.......always enjoy your posts! And glad you got on them. I sure wish I was close enough to give the rock some business every once in a while.......man, that is one beautiful lake. Congrats on a terrific day.
We do not want the gift of a fish; neither do we expect a lesson on fishing; what we direly need is a chance to fish
Good report, and as always.....entertaining. If I ever meet you I will feel inclined to put some money in a hat for you.
