I'm a big believer in keeping the jig head as balanced and horizontal as possible when pushing spider rigs. Is there any way other than proper positioning of the knot on the eyelet and then "glueing" the knot in place. I use either some sort of super glue or contact cement to secure knot placement. Other suggestions appreciated.

Hopefully the jig you are using is center balanced.
Balanced jig head like a "chub" or "bullet" head and a loop knot.

The loop knot is the way to go! just re-tie it after you catch several fish.
Double over hand loop knot and be sure to wet it before tighting. Most jigs will hang down out of the water but will balance flat when in water.
