Default Sickle hook question? Black chrome vs. Bronze?

I have used the bronze sickle hook for several years with good results. My question is what is the black chrome sickle hook and why is it about $8-10 higher a thousand? If the general thought was it is a better hook I would use it, just need to know what advantage it has?

    Thanks

It won't rust but the Bronze will. Cheapest Sickles on the net are at Grandpa Bob's.

I've never used the black chrome but do use the red. The red is a coating on a gold hook that will come off after a bit of fishing leaving you with a gold hook.

What hunter said. Cant stand bronze to many foggy mornings with the box open only to have a rust bucket in a day or 2 after you close it up with the moisture locked in.

The BN hooks seem quite strong for the diameter of the wire. You might like the bronze better IF is bends out to avoid the loss of the jig. But if you're buying hooks by the 1000, you might not be worried about breakoffs.

Thanks. I don't have them long enough to rust for the most part. I appreciate the feed back.
