Default Willow blade or Colorado blade?

The first couple of RoadRunner jigs I bought had brass willow blades. I just got a few more that have steel Colorado blades.

    Do you have a preference?

I like the willow, seems to not cause as much lift.

Depends on water clarity for me. clearer the water willow. dark day dingy water colorado little more vibration. Like HuntinSlabs says when pulling you can use different blade to adjust depth when pulling. willow less colorado more. I even change mine out at times to larger blade.

Colorado blade for the thump (vibration)
    Willow Blade for the flash

Silver for clear to slightly stained water .. clear skies
Brass for lightly stained to dingy water .. cloudy skies

Smooth surface blade for single flash
Pitted surface blade for multiple angle/broadcast flash

That's the way I understand it, anyway.

I normally use the silver Colorado bladed RR's ... but, I do have RR heads with various sized blades, both styles & both colors.

2+ with pappy - I make my own pony/horse head jigs and If I think a blade will work good on it I try it. Keep a small box of different spinners in the tackle bag so I can switch them out. Favorite wise it's a toss up between an Indianna and Colorado blade.

Many thanks for the advice. Looks like it's a good thing I've got Willow Brass and Colorado Steel. It's a varied menu.

If the question is directed at me ... I haven't used much of anything, in the RR line, other than 1/16oz marabou in the (all) chartreuse color & silver Colorado blade ... at least not in the last 20yrs, anyway. I do have other sizes & colors of RR, other member's versions & color patterns, and some RR heads that I've changed out the blades on (diff sizes/colors/shapes) ... but, I really haven't had the opportunity to fish them. I am hoping to remedy that situation, starting this year, now that I'm a boat owner again Thumbs Up
