    Default Rod opinion

I'm heading to Ky lake and want to try some trolling/pushing. Picked up a High Tek rod holder. My plan is to use two 9 ft fly rods and two 10 ft jig poles. I know it's not the ideal rod combo but will it work? I will tape spinning reels up the grips on the fly rods and tape up the fly reel seats so they should work ok in the holders. I have a graphite noodle rod that I could throw into the mix.

I don't have any suggestions on rods to use but will suggest the use of silicone tape also know as rescue tape to use on attaching your reels. You may already be aware of silicone tape but I only became aware of this stuff a year ago and really like it since it won't leave a sticky adhesive residue once you take the tape off or change locations.

Your plan will work fine. Best way to start and find out what works and dosnt for you. Fly rods depending on weight rating might be a little light but won't know until you try. 10 frees will be ok and that noodle rod might just surprise you. After you try it a few times you probably will want to have all your poles the same. I use 12 ft BnM PST,s now but have Wally marshal jig poles in 8,9,10,11ft that I used before the PST. Some people use different lengths in their spread. It's all personal preference. You will catch fish with what you have. If you know some one that has the other types of poles they might loan you a couple to see how you like them. That's how I settled on the PST,s.

yeah, I dont know about the fly rods. Might be a little light for pushing. Let us know how they work though. You have me wondering.
