The ordering options were 150-yard, 330-yard or 1/4-lb. spool.

The 1/4-lb spool wasn't much more expensive (especially since the shipping was probably the same $), so I ordered it.

It wasn't until I received the confirmation that I realized a 1/4 lb spool is 2,360 yards!

I guess I better go buy more rods and reels, huh?

Keep it out of the sun or it will loose it color very quick. That's what I did like about it as I keep my poles in the boat 24-7

Sell stuff on ebay and use the paypal account; that way it doesn't end up on the credit card account. When UPS delivers some fishing gear I can just say "yeah, I sold my (blank) and bought this."

If I'm just selling one hobby-stuff to buy another, she doesn't care. Neither of us likes to keep unused stuff around the house. If it's not in use it either gets sold or given to Goodwill.

Thanks for the tips about storage. With that much line I'll have to find the ideal place.

I've got one reel with Vicious hi-vis 4lb test, and I can't really tell much difference in it and Mr Crappie Super hi-vis 4lb test (USA made version) .... and I've got no kick against my Mr Crappie line !! I'm still working on a 3100yd spool of the Mr Crappie line, and have had it for several years & it's still good to go. I keep all my line in a closet, along with all my fishing/hunting gear ... dark, cool, & dry !!

... cp

I still haven't gotten rods and reels yet. I need everything including line. I think I will get 6 pound for my reels. Don't know what brand. I also need some dry plastic containers to separate weights jigs hooks tackle in general to make it neat and organized. Looking at this new boat from xpress most compartments don't look like they are dry which is crazy. Don't get that. No big deal though. Haven't had it out to fish yet. Maybe next weekend if weather is ok

I like it so far. Like others have said the memory is low and the strength is good.

I was fishing off of a bridge yesterday and was probably 5 feet above the water. I was casting 1/16 oz. jigs and slowly reeling back. I was missing a lot of bites with the clear blue line due to the big swell in my line. I changed line right there to 6# Mr. Crappie Hi-Vis. I started watching the last 4 or 5 feet of my line as it entered the water. My hook ratio immediately improved as I could see the line jump before I ever felt the fish.
I also want to try the Vicious Hi-Vis lines. Heard a lot of good things about them. Let us know how you like it.

I perfer clear line and feel when fish are suspended in clear water I get bit more. I understand folks with limited vision and light jigs need the colored line. I use heavier jigs on tight line with graphite rod so I can stay in contact as to feel the strike. I ever stop feeling the jig I raise the rod. Most conditions I can see my line anyway with out high vis. I know folks that use 40lb line but fish deep in murky water using minnows. That works for them but I would'nt try it jig fishing.

We just bought a spool of 6# test. It seems to spool up good. Going to keep it in the drawer with my 4# Mr. Crappie line.

Every Walmart must be different. Both of the ones near me have a small display of Berkley line; maybe 8-10 types in 5-6 line weights, plus one or two Spiderwires. Nothing else.
