Angry River Otters Stealing Crappie from Yo-Yos??

Anybody ever had a problem with River Otters stealing their crappie from yo-yos? I had about 8 or 10 nice slaps half eaten last night. I watched a river otter go up and grap one of them and hop into a clump of cypress trees and eat it right in front of me with no fear. Just wondering if anybody had ever had that happen, what they did to remedy it?

Here in Indiana they're still a protected species. They were hunted and trapped to extinction in the state. I live and hunt near many on the areas that the were re-introduced. The facts are, our ancestors got rid of them because of the competition for food. They will destroy a pond in a hurry, usually because they're there to start a family. I hope it's not long before we're allowed a little hands on conservation around here...

Otters around here are the worst things you can have in your pond or lake, they will clean it out!!

Otters are smart and when they find a food source they will stay with it. Sounds like you better fish with a pole or relocate your yoyos.
