Work holds me back a lot more than weather. It'll be April before I hit 'em.

    Default Asap

Ice out is around mid april and I get out as soon as ice leaves. Fish eat all year around. Small size 12 scuds etc. work well. Try different colors in weedy areas 6 ft or less.

I know you didn't ask me, but I'll throw in my .02. I think virtually any small nymph or streamer will work. Beadhead nymphs like the Prince, GRHE, pheasant tail, copper john, etc., are all good. Small wooly buggers (no bigger that #10) are great, too.

I fish a lot o f Dragon fly and damsel fly nymphs, woolly buggers and bead heads. On sunny days they will still hit on poppers and divers.
