    Default drift sock size...


    I need a drift sock but I just bought new boat 18v tracker with
    90 .. I need to slow it down so I can troll once the wind picks up. About what size of a sock would I need? Somethin to slow me down .

    you can get away with just a 5 gallon bucket tied on a rope. We use them for walleye fishing and always bring two or three of them with us so we can get our drift at the right speed. Some days are a one-bucket day, and others are two or three bucket days. Cheap, but effective.

    I use 2 60 inchers on an 1860 F&F and they work well.

    Two 60", bare minimum. I have two 77" socks on my 18'er, some days it ain't enough.

    You need one DOUBLE the recommended size from the companies supplying them....or get two....at the very least. I bought one for a 16'. Picked out one for 18' and it was just not enough. They really underestimate their capabilities!
