    Default garlic and salt

Ok, it seems most fish like garlic and salt so can you take garlic salt and mix it with something and make a good dip or spray for your jigs. Sounds simple so I'm sure some of you old timers have tried this. Let us know what your beta testing was.

I used to "cure" chicken livers in garlic salt chanel cats...works great... I have seen people use garlic butter on thier jigs a few times too. As well as putting jigs in a baggy with fresh garlic and sea salt... I dont see why it wouldnt work though.... maybe take some anis (speling) oil and mix some garlic salt in it to make a dip.

Garlic works very well, I use a combination of scents but the garlic is very noticeable to us. The scents I use are made to soak in to the plastisol so that the scent doesnt just wash off after a few cast. Keep that in mind when your making your own so it doesnt come off as soon as it hits the water.

I usually tip every jig (casting or trolling) with a sliver of fish from the previous day's filleting. It works great. This year I'm going to experiment with adding salt and garlic in the ziplock bag and let it marinate overnight.

If the fish don't like it, at least I'll have a snack out on the water.

I used to cut up Velvetta cheese and put them in a bag with garlic extract. We cuaght a bunch of stocked trout by a lake near us when my boys were little. It worked great but sure had an odor to it.

I have never done it and maybe some have. What If you mix a little cooking oil with you salt and garlic would that help it stay on longer also?

Dog that sounds like a good idea. Maybe olive oil to keep them healthy.
