    Default scientific/math question

actually related to fishing, and probably an easy answer for you internet savy folks...
i need to know how convert hectopascal's into the current barometric readings folks are familar with(I.E the scale of 27.5-31.5).
Im unsure of the name or scale of the current readings of barometric pressure. I currently keep records on the hectopascal scale, but when folks ask me what the pressure is, the hectopascal scale is basicly speaking in tounges.
