    Default Lesson Learned

Okay I have be reflecting on my crappie fishing and this maybe some good advice to those new to this game. I was wondering why I have only brought home about 10-11 crappie more or less an outing in the past year. I summed it up like this, TRYING TO DO TOO MUCH. I like to fish with 2 or 3 poles from the bank 1 for jigs the others with minnows. Every time I am on one pole the other gets bite. If it is drifting the line sometimes has too much slack to set the hook, this equals lost fish.

So my advice to keep more fish.

    Dont use too many poles.
Don't have a pole over there and your over here
    Keep your line tight
    Pay Attention
Going back and forth from pole to pole equals missed chances.

I know some of you vets may already no this but hey others may learn from my mistakes.

Please add to this if you have any advice

    Peace
Love, what more can I say

I just try to set the hook as often as possible, stay within reach of each rod. If there is more than two rods hit at once, use both hands, concentrate on the one that feels bigger. If 3 - 4 rods hit, and you do not have them in rod holders, use your feet to hold them down. Do what ever it takes, to hook/land the fish.
Bank fishing is tough to use more than two rods. Do like Charger, get you a harley, trade it for a beautiful Skeeter.

If you are having trouble getting the crappie to hold on to the bait, try using some type of scent. A nibble or the newer Live Prey soft plastics may give you those few precious seconds to get a hookset.

Try KISS- Keep it simple stupid! Ha! Ha! It is ok to try a variety of ways to catch fish, but when you find one that works, forget the rest until the one you are using stops working.
