Well, it was a character and educational day to say the least.

    1. A kayak that is not fully equiped for wind, anchoring, tie-offs, etc will eat up time.
    2. When something says take the minnow bucket... take it.

The bite was lite, real lite. We seen two other boats doing well rigged out for spider fishing and using minnows. Not being able to stay put was a challenge. I had to lay the rod so it stuck out and then use the paddle to control where it was, you'd see the thump, but by the time you grabbed and set it was too late.

We each caught ONE fish. Paddled a bunch and had a great day. I think some times I'd just as soon paddle around as fish and since this was my first outing on this yak it was nice to get to know her character. Discovered some new areas on the lake, seen some eagles and ospries, and got some rigging ideas I be posting soon.

BassPro has improved their kayak gear selection since I bought the D10. Got an anchor trolley, two clam cleats, two T/open base cleats, a paddle leash/rod leash (Seth donated one rod to the lake yesterday), a stick on ruler, and two Scotty flush mount rod holder bases for the gunwales.

Beer drinking and yak rigging for my Friday night activities.

Well its a good thing I didnt go to Bass Pro with you if they have all that gear. I will definitely invest in some rod leashes before my next big outing, also need a anchor trolly, fish finder, and more rod holders... Oh yeah and a new rod and reel.

Sporting stores should not serve beer. Four of us went, two large Sam Adams there then we spilled over to The Pit, a place nearer home, and continued until 10:30. I was not fully functional this morning. Yep, good thing you didn't go. Glad I was not driving.

Really look at those clam cleats. Quicker than the T cleat.
