Line Size Preference for Casting Jigs.

I'm really getting into casting 1/16 and 1/32 oz. jigheads with Kalin's Curly Tails. I'm wanting your opinions on whether 4 or 6 lb test would be better. Right now I'm using 6 lb Trilene XL. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Also Interested in fall rates for line sizes and jig weights.

I like 15lb power pro with the 4lb dia

i happened to have this conversation a few weeks ago with a guy who has been doing this for years. He swears by 4 lb test.

Normally 1/32oz = 4# and 1/16oz = 6#. Mostly I have clear blue Stren on everything but I'm trying some Vicious 6# hi-vis yellow - jury is still out on the hi-vis stuff. I normally keep 1 rod in the boat w/4# and 3 rods w/6#

I like the 6, I can get some lightwire jigs back then. And I've "lost" to many fish to 4

I like 4 LB stren for casting small jigs 32nd to 16th

For mono, I wouldn't go higher than 4#.

personaly I think a full spool has a lot more to with distance when talking line size 4# vs 6# I use 6# suffix across the board

I like 4 or 6 pound test. The 4 lb test sounds great for the 1/32 oz jh. I use Vanish 6 lb. flcarbon. It sinks real well and the name speaks for itself. SLIP

I use 8# Stren mono. Never had any problems. Though, I might drop down to 6# if I start using a light action rod.
