    Default Big South Fork Report

Hey fellow crappie enthusiast. Thought I'd give a brief report on the happenings here on the Big South Fork of the Cumberland. Due to the recent rains, the river has gotten muddy. I went yesterday to check on the clarity and level of the water and was surprised that it was still very much fishable. So what did I do? Of course, ran home, hooked up my boat and off I went. I went up the river and ran into muddy water so I went down the river and found plenty of clear water, had a great day! Caught well over 100 of all sizes and finally decided to keep me a mess of em! Finally ran out of minnows around 7pm and come on home. Unfortunately, the river keeps rolling along and muddy water finally reached my fishing spots this morning, so I"m home today, bored, wishing I could fish....

Should be clear enough to fish by Wednesday ....:D

Good fishing to all and may you all catch your fill!!!

    Hey Crappie-dude
Glad to hear you are still tearing up the Big South Fork. Matt & I are still planning on taking a trip with you if this weather will ever cooperate. Maybe I should lay off this turkey hunting for a few days but I swear I have it bad LOL!!

Default Be glad to have ya guys!!!

Come on over and bring ya gun with ya fishin poles. I usually see/hear 3-4 gobblers every time I go fishing. I don't hunt em although I 'm glad someone does. Way too many turkey in my opinion, hurts the deer population. I'd say by Wednesday river should be clear enough to fish again. This past trip was one of the strangest I'd had. I could never figure out what depth they were at, I caught them from 5ft to 25ft, must have been the raising water level or something. Always over/around cover. I've found some new holes this last time, I"m excited about getting back to em and tearing em up again!!!

Yes, the ignored son of the turkey hunter needs to fish bad. :D

Too bad I'm nailing all these little ponds around here and catching big'uns while he's sitting out in the hills yelling at a bird. :P
All in all you're just another fish on my wall.
