welcome, from cleveland county,ar. home of meatgetter jigs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am new to this site, so I have been just sitting back and reading the post so I could maybe learn and contribute.
I have a little trade tip that I will share with those who may have never tried this. I am a water well driller, and we have a local area on the river where most of the houses have Florida (water source) heat pumps for heating and cooling the house. The water is pulled from a well that keeps a constant temp. between 55-65 degrees. The water cycles through the heat pump, removing the hot air out of the house or the cold air out of the house then returns that water into the canals or river. Most of this area is shallow water from 2ft. to 6ft. deep. The water return lines are all dumped at the bank or sea wall, hence warm or cool fresh water heating or cooling the shallows. On the coldest winter days here in Coastal N.C. the water temp. at this location is usually 10-20 degrees warmer than the rest of the water. So that is where I find my boat heading. Guess who is waiting on me when I get there? GO .
Any one in the 28584 area, I give you the exact location.

I have geothermal heat/air conditioning here at my home and shop in Cleveland Ohio. It works so well and cost so little compared to natural gas heating, it is incredible. Ok back to talking fishing. I'm headed to Ator, Feb. 18 for 2 weeks of speck fishing. Anyone been fishing around there? JC
On newer models a thick insulation is installed about 6` out from the exterior walls at about 3` at a 10- 20 degree slope down from the house before final grading. SURPRISINGLY effective as a "wing" heat trap...

Welcome from Ne. I always stop and pitch at any inlet or creek coming into a lake. I have one in the Spring that I get several Walleye from while Crappie fishing the Spawn. Excellent tip for the new members tho. EB
