    Default quick question...

I know this isn't the electronic thread, but I need as much advice as I can get. I have a 12/24 volt troller, and it has 3 wires...red/black/white. If I am not going to wire it for 24v, and I am only going to use the 12 volt capabilities, what two wires do I hook up? I would say the red (positive) and black (negative); however, i've heard also white (positive), and black (negative)...

It is an older Motorguide 50lb thrust Brute model!

Thanks in advance for the help!

I went through this a while back and I have the big plug socket in the front console . It's a twist lock set up. One hole was the ground, one was 12 volt, and the other was 24 volt. A trip through with a multimeter should answer your questions. When in doubt, ask Barnacle Bill or go to Iboats.com. I've always gotten the right answers there.
