    Default Fishing 4-22-06

We fished mid morning until about 3:00 PM we kept 16 Crappie. 10 to 13 Inch. The Crappie was moving in to the banks last week, and I thought they would be on the banks this past week-end. We had some cooler weather last week, and that put them back to the first break again. We started catching them in 10ft of water, and ended up getting them in 17 to 18 ft about 10 ft down. Later in the day we had to drop to the bottom, and just come up about a crank and hold. We probably caught about 30 but just kept 16. The bigger fish came on a BPS 1/16th chartruese maribou jig. We got about 6 on Minnows. It felt good to finally get out fishing again. This is the 3rd time I have been out this year. The Lake is still down about 3 ft yet. Water temp is 63 in the coves, and 59 out on the main lake.
