    Default Home Sweet Home!

As much as I enjoyed the TeeZur Tournament and the challenges of fishing unknown water in gale force winds it sure was nice to get back to "work" fishing on water like this:

    And finding crappie like this:

The 5-foot draw-down of Lake Hamilton was completed over the weekend, the surface temps are in the low 60s and the crappie are starting to move up and congregate over brushpiles on points near deep water.

They still weren't very interested in a jig but were real happy with Rosy Reds under slip floats set 11 to 13-feet deep.

The next few weeks should be a lot of fun!

    Thanks Rivercat:

That one was just over 15-inches and weighed 1-pound, 11-ounces. We should be getting more like it and bigger in the next few weeks since the lake will be stable and the Fall Feeding Frenzy is on.

Just checked the weather and they are predicting winds of 3 mph tomorrow - I think I can handle that!

    Hey Big J:

It was great to see you and Dylan again - I'm glad you guys made it to the TT.

It's real pretty right now on Hamilton and no Lake Lice! I love this time of year almost as much as spring. Started out about 54-degrees this morning and got up into the low 70s - very comfortable with no wind!

Tell Dylan I said "Hi" and to keep doing good in school so he can come fishing with me again soon.

Ya know we do pretty good here in December around Christmas break time. If it doesn't cool off too fast they may still be up and hungry by then too!

    Default Look'in Good

Looks really good, Jerry. Count on me being there this weekend. When I asked the boss, all she said was, "All I want to do is shop more." Good arrangement. She refuses to let me go shopping with her, so I go fishing. Which lake - Hamilton or Greeson?

    Hey Darryl:

Come on down! We fished Hamilton today but Greeson is back up to a good level and the crappie should be turning on there too.

I'll be back on Hamilton tomorrow and Wednesday but will try to get to Greeson either Thursday or Friday. Right now my weekend is open and I don't know which lake I'll be fishing. Russ may come down and do a Fall show sometime in the next few weeks - I told him it's TIME!

I need to do some crappie condo work on Hamilton so we'll have plenty of places to fish until they bring the lake back up. If you know of any good sources for free 5-gallon buckets bring them on. I need to hit the hamburger joints around here and try to get some pickle buckets. Need to get some fast-setting quickcrete lined up too.
