Are the bream on the bed????

Im going fishing on cross lake, LA sunday and I was wondering if the bream are on the bed if so what would be the best bait for them???

I caught 27 in an hour tuesday at Bayou desiard in monroe. I went again today and caugth 55 in two hours. They were not on beds they were in 3-5 feet of water. I dont know the lake you are talking about, but if you could find a spawning area near to deep water fish in the 3-5 foot range and you ought to be set.

Here in Mississippi they have certainly started on the beds. We have a new state lake that opened this spring that is about 500 acres. Multiple areas of the lake had dump trucks of pea gravel spread over the bottom before flooding. I caught 16 in about 30 minutes last week in one of the beds in about 7 feet of water. Average size of all bluegill caught was 0.75 pounds. Sure was lots of fun. I expect it to get even better in May/June.
