Question Where you wanting to go

What area of WK are you going. I grew up there and still have a farm there. I was on the River but don't know if you are looking for oxbows, sloughs, or lakes. If you are far enough west then you are extremely close to Reelfoot. This is in TN. but considered a top crappie lake. Of course there is also KY and Barkley.

    Default Sorry

Sorry, that is too far north for me. I grew up on MS River. I will ask my son in law. His family is from that area.

closest one to you would be Rough River Lake. http://www.kdfwr.state.ky.us/ViewMap.aspx?MID=21

You can also use this site : http://kygeonet.ky.gov/kdfwr/viewer.htm ... just use your mouse pointer to draw a box around an area on the map ... cover a fairly large area first ... then on each new "zoomed in" map, draw another box around areas with lakes and it will zoom in closer.

There are some other publications that might be of benefit to you -- KY Atlas & Gazetteer ($20) ( http://www.delorme.com/atlasgaz/ ) being the one to show you where all the lakes & streams in Ky are, and a road map all in one. The KDFWR also gives away pamphlets that show a lot of the small lakes and rivers (Accessability pamphlet), the Fishing & Boating Rules/Regs pamphlet, Fish ID booklet, etc ... which can be found at bait stores (and I think they'll send them to you, on request, if you call ... 1-800-858-1549 )
There's even a book of topo maps, for around $20-$25, available at most Wal-marts and some bait shops.

Hope some of this helps ...... Welcome to Crappie.com ......... luck2ya ... cp
