i think it is, mine is black and white and my finder on the front is color and i can see it a whole lot better.

Go with the color, but dont give up pixel count to get it. You wont be disappointed in spending the extra money. Besides, youre gonna have the new unit for years so get what you want and just get over the pain of spending the extra money.Thumbs Up

I bought the HB 385 color combo because it was the cheapest good quality combo I found. It has a 3.5" screen.I would rather have a bigger screen in BW than the smaller color. When you use split screen(GPS/DF) it is hard to make out much detail on that small a screen. I would also rather have BW DI that regular DF in color. Wish I had figured that out earlier.
